Polycrystalline phosphors of anthracene with varying concentration of
pyrene have been prepared. Photoluminescence spectra of these pyrene d
oped anthracene phosphors are recorded in spectrofluorometer. The inte
nsity of anthracene emission has been found to increase with addition
of pyrene. This increase in intensity with concentration of pyrene is
attributed to triplet-triplet annihilation process. Electroluminescenc
e and Photoelectroluminescence in synthesized phosphors have also been
studied. The results have been interpreted by proposing a possible me
chanism.
