Abstract
We present a summary of the magnetoresistance and magnetization data a cquired primarily in the temperature interval 80 less than or equal to T less than or equal to 130 K, in applied fields up to 85 kOe, on Ce( Fe0.92Ru0.08)(2). In a portion of this range the antiferromagnetic sta te, consisting of adjacent ''sheets'' of Fe spins (with ferromagnetic intrasheet coupling) initially coupled antiparallel, can be restored t o a ferromagnetic structure by sufficiently high fields leading to a g iant magnetoresistance (>20%). The present data display many similar c haracteristics to those reported previously for an x=0.07 (Ru) sample; here we emphasize the principal differences.
