Abstract
The authors demonstrate, for the first time, a three node optically ti me division multiplexed network with a maximum capacity of 40Gbit/s. E lectro-optical switches were used for both 'drop and insert' and demul tiplexing, and electronic clock recovery provided synchronisation thro ughout the network.
