Abstract
The following report summarizes the role of the intensivist in the tre atment of the cardiovascular manifestations of scorpion envenomation w ithin the intensive care unit. It emphasizes the need for a clear unde rstanding the mechanisms involved behind the manifestations of myocard ial damage and the rational approach of aggressive treatment of the ov erstimulated autonomic nervous system. The report emphasizes the compl exity of the clinical picture and the intensivist approach based on cl inical and experimental evidence, with excellent results.
