Av. Shulga et al., EFFECT OF PROCESS CONDITIONS ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF BORON IN A POWDER-COMPACTED NICKEL SUPERALLOY, Russian metallurgy. Metally, (4), 1996, pp. 60-68
Track autoradiography, metallography and electron probe X-ray analysis
were used to study the distribution of boron among structure componen
ts of a powder-compacted nickel superalloy Ni-9Cr-16Co-3Mo-5Al-2Ti-7W-
Nb-Hf-C-B at various stages of production of components. Regularities
of boron distribution in semiproducts compacted from powders obtained
by centrifugal and gas-jet atomization were established. Mechanisms of
formation of ''anomalous'' particles with increased boron content and
of boron migration to grain boundaries on heat treatment are advanced
.
