Compatibility of the production of sintered permanent magnets from two
different hard magnetic materials based on SmCo5 and Nd2Fe14B interme
tallic compounds is considered. The effect of one alloy introduced as
impurity on the fundamental magnetic properties, hysteresis characteri
stics. and optimal production parameters of the magnets from the other
alloy are studied. Suggestions about the relative contributions of th
e alloy components into hysteresis properties, the relative effects of
the alloys under study on phase compositions of sintered magnets and
on fundamental magnetic properties (constants of anisotropy, saturatio
n magnetization. and Curie temperature) of the main hard magnetic phas
es (RT(5), R(2)T(14)B) are based on the analysis of the R-T and R- T-B
equilibrium phase diagrams and the results obtained.
