The approach based on the similarity theory is used to analyze the kno
wn experimental data on radiation swelling of metals under various irr
adiation conditions. The evolution of swelling in a wide range of radi
ation damage satisfies to the self-similarity conditions. The kinetic
swelling diagrams relating the swelling rate as a function of irradiat
ion dose to the established dimensionless parameters that characterize
radiation resistance under the influence of different factors are sug
gested for analysis of radiation damage processes. The mid-sections of
these diagrams are described by the power-law relationships with the
exponents depending on experimental conditions. The threshold and maxi
mum values of radiation resistance are separated. which. as well Lu: t
he exponents determining the intensity of radiation defect accumulatio
n, can be used to compare various materials and select the material of
highest radiation resistance.
