We report a case of coronary angioplasty balloon rupture and catheter
fracture within a calcified lesion, requiring emergency coronary bypas
s surgery. The entrapped catheter could not be removed at surgery. Thi
s case re-emphasizes the hazards associated with angioplasty of calcif
