Abstract
A semiclassical higher-derivative theory of gravity is investigated fo r conformally invariant free quantum fields in homogeneous and isotrop ic spacetime with no cosmological constant nor classical source. In th e spatially flat case the stability of the de Sitter solution is studi ed. Moreover, the Minkowski solution is found to be unstable.
