Abstract
Only very recently in South Africa has psychotherapy been practiced ac ross the apartheid divide. There has therefore been relatively little dialogue between African healing practices and Western ones. The prese nt paper, which outlines a therapeutic encounter with three adolescent girls suffering from symptoms characteristic of PTSD, attempts such a dialogue.
