Abstract
Bacterial vaginosis is a common lower genital tract infection. Women w ith bacterial vaginosis have 100-1000 times more virulent bacterial pe r ml of vaginal flora than women without this infection. This tremendo us increase in the concentration of bacteria has been recently associa ted with postpartum and posthysterectomy infection and preterm deliver y.
