In the present work, ammonium hexadecanoyl trioctyl iodide (AHTI), iod
ine and N,N-(1,4-butylidene) thiuram disulfide (BITDS) modified BLM-s
on Pt support have been constructed. The variation of potential during
the process of BLM formation on a fresh cut tip surface have been obs
erved and its potentiometric response toward iodide or copper ion have
been investigated, The AHTI modified BLM on Pt support shows linear p
otentiometric response for iodide ion in the range of 10(-6) - 10(-2)
mol/L with a slope of 57 mV/pC. For the iodine modified BLM on Pt supp
ort the linear response range for iodide ion is 10(-5)- 10(-2) mol/L w
ith a slope of 55 mV/pC. The BITDS modified BLM on Pt support exhibits
a Nernstian response for copper ion in the range of 10(-5)-10(-2) mol
/L with a slope of 33 mV/pC.
