M. Surmeian et al., 3RD DERIVATIVE SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF METOMIDATE FROM AQUEOUS-SOLUTION, Analytical letters, 27(12), 1994, pp. 2281-2290
The third derivative spectrophotometric method has been proposed for t
he determination of metomidate from aqueous solution. By hydrolysis of
metomidate, D,L-1-(1-phenylethyl)-imidazole-5-carboxylic acid is form
ed. Determining the absolute value of the third derivative spectra in
the ''zero-crossing'' point, the concentration of metomidate can be ca
lculated directly without any interferences. The validity of the metho
d was confirmed using synthetic mixtures. Kinetic investigation of the
degradation rate of metomidate revealed that the proposed method is s
tability indicating.
