L. Deodhar et J. Karnad, IN-VITRO ADHESIVENESS OF GARDNERELLA-VAGINALIS STRAINS IN RELATION TOTHE OCCURRENCE OF CLUE CELLS IN VAGINAL DISCHARGE, INDIAN JOURNAL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH, 100, 1994, pp. 59-61
G. vaginalis was isolated from 52.4 per cent patients with non-specifi
c vaginitis. The haemagglutinating activity of G. vaginalis was strong
est with human '0' red cells and weaker reactions were observed with s
heep and chick erythrocytes. Haemagglutinating activity of G. vaginali
s with human 'O' cells (1:16 titre) could be correlated with clue cell
s in vaginal discharge in 73 per cent patients while in lower titres,
this correlation was not observed.
