Abstract
Between 1 January 1980, and 31 December 1992, 66 patients with cerebel lar astrocytoma were diagnosed and treated at The Hospital for Sick Ch ildren in Toronto. These patients ranged in age between 1 and 18 years , with a mean age of 7.3 years. Thirty-eight patients were male and 28 were female. Total removal was possible in 61 patients and no recurre nce occurred in these 61 patients. In the 5 patients in whom an incomp lete resection was carried out, regrowth occurred between 1 and 8 year s following resection.
