E. Bermejo et al., SOLID-STATE SYNTHESIS AND SINTERING BELOW 1000-DEGREES-C OF LITHIUM FERRITE FREEZE-DRIED POWDERS, Materials research bulletin, 29(9), 1994, pp. 965-972
In order to sinter pure lithium ferrite to high density at a temperatu
re as low as 1000-degrees-C and without employing sintering aids, the
elaboration of raw materials by freeze-drying has been undertaken. Thi
s unconventional process can ensure the synthesis of ultra-fine powder
s and achievement of high-density ceramic bodies concomitant with a lo
w sintering temperature. The usefulness of such an elaboration techniq
ue is compared with conventional processing.
