Abstract
In order to sinter pure lithium ferrite to high density at a temperatu re as low as 1000-degrees-C and without employing sintering aids, the elaboration of raw materials by freeze-drying has been undertaken. Thi s unconventional process can ensure the synthesis of ultra-fine powder s and achievement of high-density ceramic bodies concomitant with a lo w sintering temperature. The usefulness of such an elaboration techniq ue is compared with conventional processing.
