Abstract
The NMR of thulium-169 has been used to study the oxygen ordering dyna mics in nonequilibrium TmBa2Cu3O6+x samples at room temperature. The a verage time for the diffusive hop O(5) --> O(1) of an oxygen atom at r oom temperature has been found to be tau(RT) approximately 1 h. This r esult corresponds to a diffusion coefficient D(RT) approximately 0.5 x 10(-19) cm2/s.
