The acute toxicity of lindane, pentachlorophenol and a fluortenside wa
s examined using a recently developed ecotoxicity test with the terres
trial nematode species Panagrellus redivivus. The exposure was perform
ed in aqueous solution over an investigation period of 96 h. For linda
ne a time dependent decrease of the survival rate (LC50 after 96 h: 0.
4 mg/l) was observed which indicates a high cuticular permeability of
the insecticide. For pentachlorophenol the LC50 (96 h) was 13 mg/l, fo
r the fluortenside a value of 110 mg/l was determined.
