Abstract
A Swedish version of the Dental Subscale of Children's Fear Survey Sch edule (CFSS-DS) was designed to be answered by parents on behalf of th eir children. The instrument was administered twice to the parents of 52 children aged 4 to 14 years. The children's behaviors were rated du ring the dental appointment immediately after the second administratio n. The CFSS-DS reached high values for test-retest reliability and val idity. Scores equal to or exceeding 38 were found to be related to den tal fear.
