Abstract
In this paper Reissner's theory for small bending and stretching of sa ndwich-type shells is extended, for the particular case of cylindrical shells, to circumstances in which the facing materials may be of diff erent orthotropies and/or different thicknesses. Some numerical exampl es are given for the case of a semi-infinite shell acted on by an edge bending moment and shear force.
