The n-GaAs/electrolyte interface has been characterized through differ
ential capacity and potentiostatic measurements. Attempts have been ma
de in order to stabilize the GaAs/aqueous electrolyte interface by mea
ns of the Te2-/Te-2(2-) redox couple. The presence of this redox coupl
e ensures a satisfactory stability of the photoanode which allows the
obtaining of a regenerative photoelectrochemical cell. The photovoltai
c parameters of this cell are also reported.
