M. Surmeian, DERIVATIVE ULTRAVIOLET SPECTROPHOTOMERIC DETERMINATION OF PROCAINE HYDROCHLORIDE AND PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE FROM SUGAR-COATED TABLETS, Revue Roumaine de Chimie, 39(5), 1994, pp. 497-501
A method is described for the determination of procaine hydrochloride
and pyridoxine hydrochloride from sugar-coated tablets by first and se
cond-derivative UV spectrophotometry using as solvents water and 0.1 M
hydrochloric acid respectively. The procedure was defined by regressi
on analysis for a high number of standard solutions. Linear relationsh
ips were obtained between the mixture composition and the amplitudes:
dA/dlambda at 308.33 nm for procaine hydrochloride and d(s)A/dlambda2
at 265.81 nm for pyridoxine hydrochloride amount. The method, yielding
accurate and precise results, was satisfactorily applied to laborator
y mixtures and pharmaceutical preparation, ASLAVITAL(R) sugar-coated t
ablets.
