Abstract
In Dhunaghat area of Kumaun Lesser Himalaya, Precambrian greenschist m etapelites of the Almora Group show evidence of contact metamorphism c aused by intrusion of the hot Cambrian Champawat Granitoids plutonic b ody. Mineral assemblages indicate hornblende-hornfels facies condition s of contact metamorphism. Temperatures between 600 and 650-degrees-C and pressures around 3 kb are suggested for the contact metamorphism.
