ANALYSIS OF A MAGNETOELASTIC SENSOR

A brief description of a magnetoelastic sensor is presented. The relat ionship between ac resonance and dc bias magnetization is explained. A 3D magnetostatic finite element model is used to describe the dc bias magnetization using either a uniform solenoidal or permanent magnet s ource. An analysis of the equation of motion of the magnetoelastic sen sor is derived and an equivalent circuit model describing the ac reson ance behavior is presented. The results of these models agree well wit h experimental data.
