Si. Nabeta et al., A TIME-STEPPED FINITE-ELEMENT SIMULATION OF A SYMMETRICAL SHORT-CIRCUIT IN A SYNCHRONOUS MACHINE, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 30(5), 1994, pp. 3683-3686
The aim of this work is to propose and apply the principle of superpos
ition for the numerical simulation of a symmetrical short-circuit in a
n unloaded synchronous machine. For this purpose a linear, two-dimensi
onal, time-stepped Finite-Element Method coupled with electric circuit
s is used which permits to take into account the rotor movement and th
e end-winding impedances. Computed values of subtransient, transient a
nd steady-state reactances, as well as, subtransient and transient tim
e-constants on D-axis are compared with those obtained by the short-ci
rcuit test and the Standstill Frequency Response (SSFR) test simulatio
n.
