Abstract
The five copepodid stages of Doridicola longicauda (Claus, 1860), a po ecilostomatoid copepod (family Lichomolgidae) living on the gills of S epia officinalis in Lake Fare, Messina, Italy, are described. Sexual d ifferentiation first occurs in copepodid V, in which the male and fema le maxillipeds are differently formed. The adult stages of the two sib ling species D. longicauda (Claus, 1860) and D. sepiae (Izawa, 1976) a re compared.
