Rotational structures and angular momenta of the two observed [(II3/2)
-I-2]4d gerade Rydberg states of bromine in the region 68 800-72 000 c
m(-1) have been studied by high resolution resonance enhanced (2+1) mu
ltiphoton ionization spectroscopy. The rotational constants have been
obtained and the angular momenta of the two [(II3/2)-I-2]4d series hav
e been assigned for the first time. These results are further determin
ed and confirmed by computational spectral simulations. The angular mo
menta of the two observed [(II3/2)-I-2]4d Rydberg states are concluded
to be Omega=1. Comparison is also made for these two Rydberg states.
