N. Martens et Eah. Hall, MODEL FOR AN IMMOBILIZED OXIDASE ENZYME ELECTRODE IN THE PRESENCE OF 2 OXIDANTS, Analytical chemistry, 66(17), 1994, pp. 2763-2770
In mediated oxidase electrodes, the artificial electron acceptor compe
tes with oxygen for the reoxidation of the enzyme. A steady-state mode
l for a three-substrate electrode is employed to investigate the influ
ence of oxygen on the current response of an amperometric enzyme elect
rode and concentration profiles predicted in the enzyme layer for the
substrates. The model predicts the electrode response for different O-
2 levels, and the influence of model parameters on the electrode perfo
rmance is tested and discussed with the view of improved sensor design
.
