Abstract
A series of anils of benzoylferrocene were synthesized and characteriz ed to be a mixture of trans and eis isomers in solution, the reaction of which, with mercuric acetate gave regioselectively ortho-mercurated products in high yields. On Be basis of the NMR data, the related ste reochemistry for both the anils and the mercurated compounds has been discussed.
