Abstract
The title compound, tetrakis(tetramethylammonium) bis(lithium tetrahyd rate) decavanadate tetrahydrate, (C4H12N)(4)[Li(H2O)(4)](2)[V10O28].4H (2)O, was synthesized and found to crystallize in the triclinic system (space group <P(1)over bar>). The centrosymmetric [V10O28](6-) polyan ions form layers in the ac plane by hydrogen bonding with tetrahedral [Li(H2O)(4)](+) cations and water molecules of crystallization. The te tramethylammonium cations fill the space between the layers.
