M. Rose et al., ABDOMINAL-WALL HERNIAS - THE VALUE OF COMPUTED-TOMOGRAPHY DIAGNOSIS IN THE OBESE PATIENT, Journal of clinical gastroenterology, 19(2), 1994, pp. 94-96
The abdominal wall is a common and often overlooked source of pain. Th
ree obese patients with pain that proved to come from an abdominal wal
l hernia are described. The hernias were not found on physical examina
tion, and extensive workup of the digestive tract did not disclose the
diagnosis. Computed tomography directed at the abdominal wall demonst
rated the hernias. We review the literature on the use of computed tom
ography in the diagnosis of abdominal wall lesions.
