Abstract
The effect of photochemical cross-linking on deformation-strength prop erties of mixtures of low-density polyethylene with isotactic polyprop ylene is investigated. The characteristics of the heat shrinkage of or iented films fabricated of photochemically cross-linked mixtures with polypropylene content up to 50% are studied. The results obtained allo w one to suppose that the cross-linking increases the interphase inter action and leads to the formation of a network of chemical knots, whic h facilitates a uniform distribution of stresses in samples during ori entational stretching.
