Abstract
It has been shown that sodium carbonate solutions are efficient in des ulfation of the active substance of lead batteries. With a 20% excess of soda and with at least 50% lead oxide or dioxide in the mixture, th e SO42- ions are completely removed from the solid phase, and lead doe s not pass into the soda solution.
