Ag. Morachevskii et al., REGENERATION OF SODIUM-HYDROXIDE SOLUTIONS AFTER DESULFATION OF LEAD MATERIALS, Russian journal of applied chemistry, 66(9), 1993, pp. 1610-1611
It is feasible and advisable to regenerate the solutions formed during
desulfation of lead materials by aqueous sodium hydroxide solutions f
or reuse of the caustic in a closed cycle. It has been proved experime
ntally that regeneration of such solutions with powdered calcium oxide
is quite ineffective. Application of barium hydroxide gives considera
bly better results.
