As. Panasyugin et al., SORPTION OF CESIUM AND STRONTIUM FROM MINERALIZED AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS ON NATURAL ALUMINOSILICATES MODIFIED BY FERROCYANIDES OF HEAVY-METALS, Russian journal of applied chemistry, 66(9), 1993, pp. 1623-1625
The sorption behavior of natural aluminosilicates (bentonite and clino
ptilolite) and aluminosilicates modified by ferrocyanides of heavy met
als has been studied relative to radionuclides Cs-137 and Sr-90 in the
presence of various quantities of alkali and alkaline-earth ions. It
has been shown that the distribution coefficients of the modified samp
les may exceed 100 for Sr2+ and 10,000 for Cs+; however, with a concen
tration of mineral background over 1.0 g . liter-1, the competing ions
strongly depress the sorption properties of the aluminosilicates.
