Abstract
Rectovaginal fistulas are abnormal, epithelium-lined communications be tween the rectum and the vagina. Difficulties in treatment challenge t he patient and the surgeon. This article discusses the etiology, evalu ation, and classification of rectovaginal fistulas necessary to facili tate decision making in the management of this disease.
