Abstract
In this study, economic issues concerning wetlands conservation on pri vate agricultural land in the pothole region of western Canada are exa mined. Given existing and proposed Canadian agricultural programs, que stions are raised about the overall economic efficiency of the North A merican Waterfowl Management Plan (NAWMP).1 While social cost-benefit analysis is used to demonstrate the economic feasibility of a pilot pr oject under NAWMP, it is- argued that United States contributors to NA WMP may not be getting the most benefits per dollar of expenditure.
