Abstract
In a multitransient test in the Bombay High field offshore India, simu ltaneous measurement of downhole pressure and flow rate enables identi fication of early- and late-time pseudoradial-flow regimes and interme diate linear flow. Analysis of these successive flow regimes yields es timates of the an isotropic formation permeabilities and the mechanica l skin factor. In a second interpretation step, these estimates are re fined through a weighted, nonlinear least-squares history match of eit her the measured transient-wellbore-pressure or the flow-rate data. An algorithm is presented to compute the well rate from transient pressu re, given the characteristic response model of the single-well system.
