Abstract
A series of flow visualization experiments have been conducted with X- ray computerized tomography (CT) on 10. 16-cm-diameter carbonate core samples to study local displacement mechanisms on a 1-mm scale. Liquid -phase miscible displacement experiments were performed with and witho ut a residual phase. Simulations have been performed with a linear, 3D cell model that includes capacitance effects.
