A time-of-flight mass spectrometer, optimized for energy-resolved, Aug
er-electron, multiple-ion coincidence spectrometry suitable for the st
udy of core-hole decay in molecules, is presented. The mass spectromet
er collects the entire 4pi angular distribution of energetic fragment
ions up to 20 Ev, while maintaining a low potential gradient in the io
nization region to allow Auger-electron energy analysis.
