Abstract
Experimental techniques are reported that facilitate studies of the pr imary chemistry induced by ionizing radiation in condensed phases. The approach incorporates in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and mass spectrometry to monitor changes induced by atomic-site and f inal-state selective core-electron excitation using monochromatic soft X-rays.
