Vsk. Kumar et al., THERMOLUMINESCENCE AND OTHER OPTICAL STUDIES ON SOME THALLIUM DOPED ALKALI SULFATE PHOSPHORS, Radiation effects and defects in solids, 127(2), 1993, pp. 215-224
Results of thermoluminescence, optical absorption and fluorescence stu
dies on thallium doped sulphates of cesium, rubidium and potassium are
reported. The C band of Tl+ is observed in the 5.77-5.85 eV region. F
luorescent emissions from the P-3(1,0) levels are observed by excitati
on into the C and A bands. Tl+ acts as an electron trap during gamma-i
rradiation. The hole centres formed during irradiation recombine with
Tl0 during heating to give thermoluminescence. The TL emission spectra
and the fluorescence spectra are similar indicating that the process
of emission is the same in both cases.
