Abstract
In [(CH3)(C6H5)SnCl2 . H2O]2 . 18-crown-6 C26H44Cl4O8Sn2 (triclinic, P 1BAR, a = 9.727(1) angstrom, b = 10.236(2) angstrom, c = 11.077(2) ang strom, alpha = 64.22(2)-degrees, beta = 87.42(2)-degrees, gamma = 62.6 5(2)-degrees a chlorine bridge (Sn-Cl = 3.403(3) angstrom) links two a djacent (CH3)(C6H5)SnCl2 . H2O units together to form a centrosymmetri c dimer having an Sn - Cl ... Sn - Cl ring; the tin atom occupies a di storted trans-octahedral (C - Sn - C = 147.8(1)-degrees) site. The coo rdinated(Sn - O = 2.363(2) angstrom) water molecule forms twin, bifurc ated hydrogen bonds with the crown ether molecule.
