Sulphoaluminate belite cements containing the phases C2S, C4A3SBAR, C4
AF, CSBAR were synthesised from limestone, fly ash and gypsum at 1200-
degrees-C. The correspondence between the predicted phase composition
and real phase composition were checked. The influence of quantities o
f different phases in the hydration behaviour and strength development
were verified. Results show that an optimum proportion of phase quant
ities help in high strength development in early age. These cements fu
lfil all the requirement of Portland cement and have very high early s
trength. Porosity measurements show that the total pore volume in earl
y period is comparatively less than that of Ordinary Portland Cement.
Thus these cements can be usable for special purposes.
