Abstract
The effects of magnesium lithospermate B on blood pressure were examin ed in spontaneously hypertensive rats. Systolic, mean and diastolic bl ood pressures were decreased after magnesium lithospermate B administr ation, whereas the urinary levels of kallikrein, prostaglandin E(2), s odium and potassium were increased. The mechanisms of the depressor ac tion of magnesium lithospermate B were discussed on the basis of these findings.
