Monitoring blood pressure (BP) was found to be a reliable and effectiv
e method for studying anaphylactic responses of mice not subjected to
fatal shock. This method has the additional merit of allowing use of t
he experimental animals for long-term allergy research. Using this sys
tem, we estimated the antianaphylactic effects of a 35% ethanol extrac
t (IB) of petals of Impatiens balsamina L.
