Aa. Pomortsev et al., GENE GEOGRAPHY AND REGULARITIES IN THE DI STRIBUTION OF ALLELIC VARIANTS OF 3 HORDEIN-CODING LOCI IN SPRING BARLEY IN THE FORMER USSR, Genetika, 30(6), 1994, pp. 806-815
Allele distribution of main hordein-coding loci was studied in 226 spr
ing barley varieties cultivated in 25 natural agricultural provinces o
f the former USSR during the last 60 years. Significant relationships
between climatic factors and the distribution of Hrd A, Hrd B, and Hrd
F loci were established. It was shown that the genetic structure of v
ariety populations is determined by the following climatic factors: an
nual rainfall, average temperature in July, accumulated effective temp
erature, and climate continentality.
