Abstract
Allele distribution of main hordein-coding loci was studied in 226 spr ing barley varieties cultivated in 25 natural agricultural provinces o f the former USSR during the last 60 years. Significant relationships between climatic factors and the distribution of Hrd A, Hrd B, and Hrd F loci were established. It was shown that the genetic structure of v ariety populations is determined by the following climatic factors: an nual rainfall, average temperature in July, accumulated effective temp erature, and climate continentality.
