Abstract
Genome variability in representatives of Bison and Bos was studied usi ng taxonomic DNA typing. It was shown that this method, while not reve aling individual genomic differences, can be used to differentiate Bov idae representatives at the genus level. The species-specific DNA frag ments found can serve as molecular genetic markers that characterize t he genetic variability of the studied animal groups at the taxonomic l evel.
