THE USE OF GLASS SODIUM ELECTRODES FOR THERMODYNAMIC STUDIES OF SODIUM-IODIDE SOLUTIONS IN METHANOL PLUS N-PROPANOL, METHANOL PLUS ISOPROPANOL AND N-PROPANOL PLUS N-BUTANOL MIXTURES AT 298.15-K
J. Gregorowicz et A. Bald, THE USE OF GLASS SODIUM ELECTRODES FOR THERMODYNAMIC STUDIES OF SODIUM-IODIDE SOLUTIONS IN METHANOL PLUS N-PROPANOL, METHANOL PLUS ISOPROPANOL AND N-PROPANOL PLUS N-BUTANOL MIXTURES AT 298.15-K, Journal of electroanalytical chemistry [1992], 374(1-2), 1994, pp. 109-114
The electromotive forces of the cells glass electrode(Na)\NaI\AgI, Ag
in methanol + n-propanol (MeOH + n-PrOH), methanol + iso-propanol (MeO
H + i-PrOH) and n-propanol + n-butanol (n-PrOH + n-BuOH) were measured
at 298.15 K. The values of standard emf of the cells and the Gibbs en
ergies of transfer of NaI DELTAG(t)0 were determined taking into consi
deration ion-pair formation. The enthalpies of transfer of the electro
lyte were calculated using the standard enthalpies of solution of NaI
obtained earlier. The values of the entropies of transfer were also ob
tained. The usefulness of glass sodium electrodes for thermodynamic st
udies of electrolyte solutions in a system containing two-component or
ganic mixtures was evaluated and discussed.
