M. Careri et al., APPLICATIONS OF HPLC-MS TO CARBONYL CLUSTERS OF THE IRON TRIAD - THE BEHAVIOR OF DINUCLEAR FLYOVER-BRIDGED IRON COMPOUNDS, Journal of organometallic chemistry, 476(2), 1994, pp. 127-132
High-performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry
detection was used to separate and characterize some dinuclear iron de
rivatives of general formula [Fe2(CO)5(Ph2PXEPh2-p){Et2C2(CO)C2Et2)] (
X = CH2 or CH2CH2, E = P or As). Reversed-phase conditions and a parti
cle-beam (PB) interface were used. The chromatographic behaviour of th
ese compounds depends strongly on the substituents in the ligands. The
fragmentation pathways both in electron impact and in chemical ioniza
tion mode mass spectrometry were studied.
